Painted  at Hill End, N.S.W. while staying at Haefleger's cottage the home of Jean Bellette in the early 1950's.  This cottage was regularly visited by some of the great Australian artists such as  Russell Drysdale, Geoffrey Smart, Donald Friend,
 Brett Whiteley and others. This painting is an intepretation of Jean Bellette's garden at sunset, with the ghost of Jean bellette in the background.
